Description

NGC 253, the Sculptor Galaxy, is the brightest galaxy in the constellation Sculptor. It is about 11 million light years away from us and is, as I like to say, a southern beauty. In Central Europe it can only be seen very low on the horizon in the fall, on Hakos it moves almost through the zenith.

The data for the image comes from two different observatories, the WAA Southern Observatory and the WAA Remote Observatory, and is therefore the first "pritty picture" with data from the upcoming WAA Remote Observatory which is currently in test mode.
